FOSS (PTA)

FOSS (Friends of Sompting School)

FOSS (Friends of Sompting School) is our PTFA (Parent Teacher Family Association). Our aim is to raise money for the school to give children additional opportunities, e.g. resourcing the library, providing extra money towards school outings, or paying for outside visitors to come to the school to enhance different subject areas.

FOSS organises a range of events across the year to raise money, as well as giving children different opportunities, such as discos at the end of each term, a Christmas and summer fayre and film shows. All events cater for all children.  For these to happen we rely on the good will of the teachers and parent volunteers to organise and run them, as most of these happen after the school day has finished.

One of the school's biggest fundraising events is our summer fayre. We hold this after school to end the academic year on a high! Children, friends and families are invited to come and visit a range of stalls, take part in games and enjoy the refreshments. This takes a lot of organisation and needs many hands to make it run smoothly.
